Current state of DungeonAid

Honestly, everything just works as expected.
Now, that does not mean we aren't working on exciting stuff all the time. There are less frequest updates though, but that's due to no real problems needs fixing.

Perhaps worth mentioning is a few features that are currently being worked on:

  • Assets - a seperate layer on the maps where assets can be placed freely and rotated and scaled as wanted
  • DMs Vault - a vault where you can create tokens and assets that are available in all your campaigns
  • Playlists - ambiance/combat playlists that you can seamlesly fade between
  • Auras - Add auras to player tokens with custom image, size, color and rotation-animation
  • Player drawing - give players the ability to draw on the map
  • Area of effect tools - drag cones, squares, triangles etc. to visualize areas of effect

  • On map properties you can now enter a YouTube video ID. This enables a whole new kind of feel to your table.
  • The "Measure" button has been removed as you measure by holding right-click
  • DM's can now set initiative by middle-mouse clicking a token
  • A "Table" button has been included. Right-clicking this opens the table-view in a new tab. Left clicking turns the mode on/off and when on; pan and zoom on the DM view is reflected on the table-view. When turned off, the DM can pan and zoom freely. This function is very usable when your players are using a horizontal TV or projector on a table to play on
  • The table-view now loads the map without padding to the edge of the browser. Running a browser in full screen and using a map scaled to 16:9 should now fill 100% of the screen
  • The list of maps are now sorted by group-name and then map-name. This enables a much easier maintained list. Creating grops like "Chapter 01", "Chapter 02"..."Chapter 10" now sorts as it should
  • Changed font to have sharper text at smaller font-sizes

  • DungeonAid has been moved to new servers. This should increase performance in several ways and ensure even better uptime.
  • The database has been tweaked to load stuff faster and is now on a faster machine aswell
  • The slow loading-problem has been located and I'm working on fixing it. It's related to how the campaign initially loads. More on this soon.

  • Fixed a bug regarding drawing and fog-of-war. It now works again.
  • Removed the pixel-snapping of the visual brush-circle. It's now totally precise and allows for perfect drawing and fow management.

  • Fixed a glitch regarding the background disappering on the map
  • Made a HUGE improvement on tokens. Their size and effects are now fixes and scaled to the maps grid. This ensures a consistent view of the tokens across all kinds of crazy grid-sizes. This includes the box with how far you are moving your token.
  • Tokens now move way better on decimal grids.
  • Zoom limits has been removed again.
  • Made the roll announcement a tad bigger.
  • Made it easier to see what token has turn on the map.

  • A first-draft streamer-mode for DM's have been added. Open an extra browser and append "/Stream" to the address-bar to access this mode. The chat is always visible and all other buttons are hidden. Fog of war can not be seen through and all pan/zoom movement you do on your normal DM sessions is mirrored to this mode
  • Added decimals to grid height/width and offset to enable a more nuanced grid

  • The HasTurn effect is now removed when a token is removed from initiative
  • On "Fire"-tokens, the DM-menu is now gone and right-clicking opens it's properties
  • Changed made in initiative no longer resets the associated token
  • Tokens now fade correctly in FireFox

  • The map no longer initializes when changing properties, unless the picture changes
  • Tokens with hidden name is displayed as "[Unknown"] in the players initiative
  • DMs can left-click a token to highlight it in the initiative-panel

  • HasTurn now inits correctly on load
